F.A.Q.

  • This differs per artist. Waiting times are generally between 2 weeks and 5 months.

  • Sadly no. We do not do walk-ins. We are a private studio, which means we only work on appointment. Everything is booked ahead of time. Artists in the studio are there because they have appointments, so they don’t have the time.

  • Jep! Als je liever in het Nederlands communiceert kan dat zeker.

  • No. We do not tattoo people under 18. We stick to our 18+ policy, even if a parent gives you permission. As soon as you turn 18 we will be glad to help you out!

  • Many different ways! You can pay with credit card, debit card, cash and bank deposit.

  • Our minimum price is always €150,- no matter the size of the tattoo.
The final price of the tattoo depends on a lot of details, for example: the size, colour or no colour, details, placement and so on. You will receive a price estimation from the artist during your consultation if your request is accepted. If your artist says a consultation is not needed, they can inform you what budget you should be thinking of beforehand.

  • You cannot bring anyone with you. We keep the amount of people in our shop as low as possible to keep the chaos to a minimum for all our customers.
Also, due to limited space, we do not have enough room to accommodate guests. We only have enough space for all tattoo and piercing customers of the day.

Of course we make exceptions for our customers with special needs. This can all be discussed before your appointment.

  • This is for mulitple reasons.
Apart from the reasons stated in the answer to the prior question:

    1. The safety of your children and pets: our studio is not a children or pet - friendly environment. We work with dangerous materials.

2: Our customers’ experience: we want to provide a relaxed environment for our customers. We sometimes have customers with auditory or over sensory problems. Children and pets can not only distract the people working, but can be a noise hazard to our customers.

    3. Cleanliness: we work in a sterile environment to minimize risk of infection, and really want to keep it that way!

Exception: If you have a service animal, let us know beforehands so we can make the proper arrangements.

  • Generally our artists work from 10.00 till 17.00.
After 17.00 the studio is closed.

  • Call to the shop, if no one answers leave a voicemail.
    + 31 30 636 88 43
Want to be super sure we got the message? Mail: info@theinksociety.nl
Solely a mail is not a valid cancellation. For tattoo appointments we keep to a cancellation period of 14 days. If you cancel after this period we will keep the downpayment. More information: Dos and Dont’s & Terms of service.

  • We have three shopmanagers, Kayleigh, Nicole & Elske. The shopmanagers work from Monday till Friday and try to answer all emails as fast as possible. Sometimes due to sickness/vacation it is possible our responses take a bit longer than usual. Also keep an eye on your spam folder! It happens quite often that our emails ends up there.

  • Generally a week before your appointment, unless differently agreed upon during conversations with the artist in question.

  • Yes! Please do mention when this is important to you. All our inks are vegan.
We do work with Vaseline but there are replacements.
Our aftercare by TattooMed is vegan and cruelty free!

  • Nope! There are women, men and non binary artists. Don’t forget the unicorns, llamas and flamingos.

  • This is really personal, everybody has a different level of pain tolerance. The feeling is often described as a sharp, mean pain. You can compare it to a cat’s scratch. The difference is that the pain stops at the moment the artist stops tattooing. After 10 to 15 minutes your body gets used to the feeling. Your body also starts to produce lightly numbing substances. Sadly this does not take away the pain completely, you will feel it.

  • Unfortunately, no.
Not every artist is in the shop everyday.
If they are in, they are there because they have appointments with clients. This means they don’t have time for people walking in. Do you want to chat with an artist about your ideas? Send us a filled out Request form via email.

  • Of course it is possible to show your own ideas and designs. There are however a couple of things you need to keep in mind:
Drawing on paper is very different from tattooing. The artist will need to look at your design and see if it is possible to tattoo. There is a big chance the artist will have to make changes, so be prepared for that.
Also, all of our artists work in their own style. So if you are looking for someone to tattoo your design, make sure the artists style is similar. Even then there is still a possibility that the artist will suggest changes.

  • It depends on the image. The artists of The Ink Society will never copy the work of another artist. If it is a drawing, illustration, painting or something in the likes it is possible if you have permission/tattoo ticket from the original maker.

  • Some artists like to have artistic freedom so not having an idea set in stone is not a bad thing. If you need more input you can check out the work of the artists you like! See what elements pop out and send examples of the work of the artists themselves. Then an artist can have a conversation with you to figure out what you want together and make a design. If you really don’t know, not even a theme or any elements, maybe it’s good to wait. Take your time to figure out what you like, do some research and then reach out!

  • When you send in a request you can state your preferred artist. The shopmanagers will look at your ideas and see if they fit the style of the artist you chose. If it does we will discuss it with them! However, it does happen that we think another artist would fit your idea better. If that’s the case we will let you know and ask you to check out their work. If you like the work then we will discuss it with that artist. All of our artists work in their own style. This means that they will not take every request they get. We do this to make sure you get the best work of the artist!

  • A touch up is part of our service and free within 6 months of your last tattoo session. In this time frame we can ensure that we can make arrangements to plan a touch up session in case an artist leaves. As soon as we know an artist will leave, we inform the people that might need a touch up to make an appointment while the artist is still here. Sometimes artists come back for guest spots and it is possible to have a touch up when they return. If the artist has left for long periods or permanently, we book an appointment with another artist at The Ink Society to do the touch up for you. We try to find the best solution for all the different situations. Do get in contact if you want a touch up!

  • If you take good care of your tattoo it will stay good! Listen to the aftercare information provided by the artist and do apply it. Don’t forget, when the tattoo is healed always use a sunscreen of 50+ on your tattoo.

  • Yes! We have a special WiFi channel for our customers. If you need the password, please ask us at the studio!
