In my opinion, non-intentional drawings are the best drawings there are. They are not made with the purpose to be “aesthetically pleasing” or “beautiful”, but they just are. The patterns emerge by chance and without intentional processes, they feel pure that way. The drawings I use in my tattoo work are shapes that I find in my daily life and so I call them Found Drawings. Most of the time there is no decision making in how I draw, only in what I draw, since I simply notice and select my drawings.  That means that the concept behind the drawing is more important than the image itself. More recently I am combining my found drawings in collages.

I have always been fascinated by prehistoric humans, even when I was a little kid. I often thought “how would cavemen have done this?” That they already made art and had cultures that implemented tattooing fascinates me. It feels special to have a job that goes so far back in time. The non-figurative, prehistoric tattoos probably also referred to something and were conceptually meaningful. I feel connected with this prehistoric tradition and consider my tattoos as modern cavemen tattoos.
